Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, seeks a Certified Emergency Medic to join the ED team. This full-time mid-shift role (11am–11pm) involves patient care under RN and Medical Director supervision in a busy ED, with emphasis on ECG interpretation, IV therapy, airway patency, and protocol-driven care.

The ideal candidate holds SC paramedic certification (NREMT), BLS, and is prepared to complete ACLS/PALS and PHTLS within set timeframes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: One year experience in a hospital setting as a Paramedic or two years as a Paramedic in pre-hospital setting.
• Completion of an approved EMT‑P program and current Paramedic certification in South Carolina.
• BLS required on hire; ACLS and PALS within 90 days and PHTLS within 6 months of hire.
• CPI required within 90 days of hire.
• Paramedic certification by NREMT is required.
• Completion of basic arrhythmia/monitor tech class within 90 days or pass 100% of dysrhythmia testing.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety guidelines and standard precautions.
• May discharge patients after orders and documentation are completed.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and environmental issues promptly.
• Complies with policies for risk entry, reporting events, exposures, and injuries.
• Manages routine problems and prioritizes activities.
• Addresses interpersonal conflicts using appropriate channels.
• Participates in cost and waste reduction efforts.
• Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
