Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an EMT/Paramedic oriented to emergency services to perform routine patient care under supervision and assist in treatment rooms. Duties include documenting, interpreting physician orders, patient education, basic clinical procedures, and participating in emergency responses.

Responsibilities span clinical support, wound care, vital signs, and coordination with physicians, aiming to ensure safe, efficient patient care within the Emergency Services environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months (1,040 hours) experience in Hospital Acute Care, in the field, or in an Emergency Department as an EMT or Paramedic.
• Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.
• Good verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete documentation and serve as information source for patients when appropriate.
• Adhere to standards of nursing care and promote teamwork among co-workers.
• Instruct patients on general health and basic self-care procedures.
• Review, explain and clarify physician orders with patient or parent.
• Initiate emergency procedures (including CPR) and provide emergency patient treatment.
• Check and stock emergency supply charts; ensure defibrillators are working.
