Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and monitor vital signs; document observations in the medical record.
• Assist with procedures, prepare for exams and support ADLs, including eye irrigations, splinting and EKGs.
• Assist with transport and discharge of patients; maintain department supplies and infection-control standards.
• Answer phones and relay information to appropriate staff; assist in orientation of new staff; participate in meetings and in-services.
