Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks an Emergency Department Technician to support nursing staff and patient care in a fast-paced ED. The role involves vital signs, EKGs, glucose checks, phlebotomy when needed, and maintaining a clean, safe environment with accurate charting.

Under RN direction, you will help prioritize patient needs, assist with flow, and communicate changes to the team. This position requires a high school diploma or GED and relevant CNA/phlebotomy training.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in basic computer and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient care under RN supervision in the ED.
• Obtain vital signs, weights, and monitor patients as delegated.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and glucose monitoring per protocol.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and regulatory compliance.
• Document accurately in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Welcome patients and assist with flow and coordination.
