Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut seeks an ER Tech to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room and assist medical providers and licensed nurses. You will help with personal care, nutrition and elimination, and coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Qualifications

• EMT-B, Medical Assistant or CNA with acute care experience preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; perform simple math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients
• Provides for nutrition and elimination needs of patients
• Performs specific procedures according to patient plan of care
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer for patients on and off unit
• Communicates effectively with patients, family member and hospital personnel
• Maintains safe unit environment, supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care
