Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking an ER Technician to support the emergency department team with high-quality patient care. You will work under RN supervision, perform essential clinical tasks, and help manage infectious disease precautions and patient observation as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of patient care experience, phlebotomy skills, and BLS certification within six months.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience; at least one year in patient care.
• Phlebotomy competency required.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• De-escalation training within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN direction.
• Perform vital signs, I&O, and daily living activities.
• Assist with blood collection and labeling using proper technique.
• Place patients on monitors and obtain 12-lead EKGs as needed.
• Maintain infection control practices and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with healthcare team and participate in training.
• Transport patients and ensure supplies are stocked and ready.
• Support behavioral health patients and observation as required.
• Attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
