Job summary

ECMCC (Erie County Medical Center) seeks a non-licensed clinical staff member to provide direct care in the Emergency Department. The role performs venipuncture, vitals, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing under supervision.

Responsibilities include infection control, patient assistance, and transport, with required BLS and hospital procedures adherence. High school diploma and 1 year of related experience or equivalent education are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with 1 year experience as an EMT, nursing assistant or hospital aide.
• Or possession of 30 college credits from nursing program.
• Or completion of practical nursing program.
• Or certificate program as medical assistant or related program.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture.
• Performs pulse oximetry and records measurements.
• Monitors fluid intake and output.
• Performs specimen collections.
• Performs point of care testing.
• Ensures quality controls are completed.
• Obtains and records vital signs and notifies supervisor of changes.
• Assists with patient care and ambulation.
