Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support patient care in the Fall River location. The role involves assisting nurses, performing phlebotomy and EKGs, applying immobilizers, and documenting vitals and interventions in the Emergency Department record.

Expect night shifts with a 32-hour weekly schedule. The position requires a High School diploma and BLS certification, with preference for prior ER tech experience and basic computer skills for charting and ordering

Qualifications

• Over one year of ER technician experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge is expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care activities for ER patients, including flow, setup for procedures, documentation, discharge instructions, and coordination of services.
• Removes sutures/staples after wound assessment by the physician.
• Applies slings, ace wraps, cervical collars, immobilizers, and splints as directed.
• Performs wound care with OTC ointments and sterile dressings; assist with gastric lavage.
• Performs EKGs and phlebotomy on patients; monitor oxygen saturation.
• Document vital signs and interventions in the ED Clinical Record.
