Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a compassionate Nursing Assistant/Clerical Support for the Rhode Island Hospital ER. You will assist in patient care from arrival to departure, work under supervision, and support the health care team with clerical duties.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, assisting with ADLs, coordinating with nurses, handling documentation, and ensuring patient safety. The role requires Basic Life Support certification and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate preferred.
• Credentialing for secretarial and nursing assistant skills recommended.
• Current Rhode Island registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Proficiency in medical terminology and patient care basics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with Registered Nurse to set priorities and organize work.
• Communicate observations to the RN.
• Assist with ADLs and monitor IV flow.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Record treatments and maintain confidentiality.
• Operate and coordinate with hospital computer systems.
