Job summary

Prisma Health in Richland Hospital is seeking an ED Tech to support urgent and emergency care in our Richland Level One Trauma Center. This is a full-time day-shift position aimed at providing essential patient care and nursing support within the emergency department.

You will assist with vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and non-pharmacological comfort measures while documenting in the EMR and communicating with the care team to ensure patient safety and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of a nursing assistant, patient care tech, medical assistant, EMT, Paramedic, surgical tech, phlebotomy, military medical corpsman or nursing fundamentals course.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice as directed by providers and licensed staff.
• Document data on EMR and inform RN of activities performed and changes in patient status.
• Assist with positioning, transport, and activities of daily living.
• Assist with resuscitation, CPR and emergency airway procedures as needed.
• Attend department meetings and participate in process improvement initiatives.
