Job summary

Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in Globe, AZ is seeking an ER Unit Secretary to serve as a communication hub for the ED team under limited supervision and to support daily ED operations as directed by the Director.

The role includes answering phones, coordinating transfers, assisting with documentation, monitoring lab and radiology results, and helping with supply management to ensure efficient patient care workflows.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prefer one year of emergency care experience within the last 18 months.
• CNA or MA license preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to type data into the patient record.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, coordinate transfers, and page/contact physicians as needed by the ED staff.
• Match EMS run sheets to telemetry forms and place them in the coordinator's box.
• Assist in patient care team as an integral member.
• Assist nursing with transfer arrangements and ensure required paperwork is complete.
• Answer patient call lights, provide comfort, and inform the primary RN of needs.
• Stock patient rooms and supply areas daily as time allows.
• Place orders for supplies and monitor inventory usage.
• Monitor timely lab and radiology results to expedite care.
• Notify providers of results and assist in disposition; follow up if delayed.
