Job summary

Johnson Memorial Health in Franklin, Indiana is seeking an ER Registration Representative to join our PRN pool. You will register patients in the hospital computer system, perform bedside ER registration, pre-register and register admissions, and verify financial and demographic information.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; CRT experience is preferred, and prior hospital admitting or clerical experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CRT experience preferred.
• Previous hospital admitting department or clerical experience in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes the registration of patients into the hospital computer system according to hospital procedures.
• Performs bedside registration for Emergency Room patients; pre-registers and registers patients for admissions and outpatient services.
• Verifies and ensures accurate documentation of financial and demographic information; updates system and makes copies of insurance cards.
• Explains purposes of and obtains signatures for all consent forms and witnesses signatures (consent, financial consent, HIPAA, advance directives).
• Collects co-pays/deductibles for ED services and may function as Cashier when the Cashier's office is closed.

Education
