Job summary

Utah Valley University in Orem seeks an Equity and Title IX Specialist to investigate and resolve reports of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or misconduct involving students, faculty, employees, and other university agents. Ensures compliance with policies and laws, educates and guides stakeholders, and oversees part-time staff in the Equity and Title IX Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology, counseling, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience in HR, employment law, employee relations, EEO, Title IX, Clery, SaVE, VAWA or related.
• Academic setting experience with employee relations, student conduct, or Title IX.
• Conflict resolution or mediation.
• Training experience with large groups.
• SHRM SCP/CP, PHR, SPHR, ATIXA Certification or related preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs investigations: receives complaints, prepares plans, interviews parties and witnesses, collects evidence, and drafts reports.
• Documents activities, drafts formal reports with leadership and OGC, and maintains confidentiality.
• Liaises for intake, response, and admin of questions, concerns, and reports; determines steps and offers supportive measures.
• Coordinates hearings, ensures policy compliance, and manages pre-hearing and hearing day logistics.
• Provides cross-functional support within the Equity and Title IX Office.
• Supervises part-time staff, coordinates schedules, and ensures office coverage.
