Job summary

Truist is seeking an experienced equity research professional in New York to publish proprietary research with stock recommendations for institutional clients. The role involves deep industry and company analysis, financial modeling, and presenting investment ideas to senior teams.

You will conduct due diligence, build industry models, and interact with C-suite executives to support capital markets transactions and client access.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• Licenses: SIE, Series 7, Series 63, Series 87 and Series 86 (or CFA waiver).
• Minimum of 4 years related work experience in equity research or capital markets.
• Mastery of financial and accounting concepts for in-depth financial models.
• Advanced written and oral communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong analytical and sales skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Publish proprietary equity research content with stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) to institutional buy-side clients.
• Conduct due diligence and provide industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions.
• Initiate C-suite corporate access resources to institutional equity clients (non-deal roadshows, conferences, field trips).
• Conduct independent industry assessments and company-specific research reports.
• Engage with senior corporate relationships (CEO, President, COO, CFO, Director of Strategy).
• Work with senior/ supervisory analysts in research production and publication processes.
• Build industry and company models including revenue, EPS, cash flow forecasts, and market share projections.
• Perform financial and valuation analyses and formulate investment ideas.
• Draft research commentary and collaborate with Capital Markets, sales, and trading as needed.
• Maintain dialogue with covered company representatives and support buyside interactions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Creating and publishing proprietary equity research content in designated industry with stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) to institutional buy-side clients.
• Conduct due diligence and provide industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions and responsible for initiating C-suite corporate access resources to institutional equity clients.
• Responsible for initiating C-suite corporate access resources to institutional equity clients including non- deal roadshows, conferences, field trips, bus tours, and conference calls.
• Conduct independent industry assessments and company-specific research reports.
• Involvement with corporate client relationships at the highest C- Level (CEO, President, COO, CFO, Director of Strategy, etc)

Level-specific duties:

• Works closely with senior analyst in the research production process as well as with the supervisory analysts in the publication process.
• Conducts research at several levels: macro, industry and individual companies
• Builds models at the industry and company level, including market and market share forecasts, revenue, EPS, and cash flow forecasts at the company level.
• Conducts financial and valuation analyses.
• Formulates investment ideas.
• Writes draft research commentary.
• Depending on experience and the needs of the individual analyst, may work closely with Capital Markets, sales, and trading to help leverage the analyst's research product into the institutional client base.
• Depending on experience of the Associate and the needs of the individual senior analyst, may maintain active dialog with representatives of covered companies.
• May work closely with institutional buyside clients to help leverage the analyst's research product, depending on experience and the needs of the individual analyst.

Required Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree
• Licenses Required: the SIE and the 7 Top Off (or Series 7 for those licensed prior to October 2019), Series 63, Series 87 and either the Series 86 or a FINRA waiver for those who have completed CFA II.
• Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
• Mastery of financial and accounting concepts to facilitate the creation of in-depth financial models.
• Advanced written and oral communication skills and teaming ability.
• Strong analytical and sales skills
• Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working towards CFA Designation.
• 4+ years of related work related experience
• The annual base salary for this position in New York is $160,000
