Job summary

Independent School District 196 seeks a Special Education Connect Teacher (LTS) at Dakota Ridge School. This 1.0 FTE position focuses on highly supported, small-group instruction for students with significant needs in social communication and self-regulation.

Responsibilities include teaching ISD 196 curriculum, developing IEPs, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and applying culturally responsive practices to achieve equitable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minnesota Department of Education special education licensure required.
• Experience with diverse cultures and SES backgrounds preferred.
• Growth mindset and ability to accelerate growth in academic and social-emotional skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum of Independent School District 196.
• Support Connect program with high supports in small groups.
• Develop culturally responsive practices to promote equitable outcomes.
• Support students with emotional regulation and social-emotional skills.
• Provide instruction in social-emotional strategies and access to assistive tech.
• Collaborate with staff, parents and professionals to plan supports.
• Implement IEPs and Behavior Support Plans as required by law.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and coordinate with nursing staff for health tasks.
