Job summary

Bend-La Pine Schools in Bend, Oregon seeks a School Counselor to lead a comprehensive counseling program aligned with ASCA standards. The role focuses on supporting academic, college/career, and social/emotional development for ALL students, with emphasis on equity and access.

The counselor will develop, implement, and manage a district-wide program, spend most time in direct student services, and collaborate with families, teachers, and administrators to ensure student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in school counseling/mental health or similar field.
• Must meet TSPC certification requirements for school counseling.
• Ability to obtain credentials to serve as School-Based Health Services provider (Oregon).
• Familiarity with FERPA, ASCA Model, and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement ASCA-aligned school counseling program to promote student success.
• Maintain documentation supporting reimbursement for school-based services.
• Conduct regular reviews of data to inform student outcomes and equity initiatives.
• Provide direct student services (instruction, advisement, counseling) and collaborate with families and staff.
• Coordinate postsecondary planning and college/career guidance for students.
