Job summary

Western States Equipment Company is seeking a dedicated Yard Operations Attendant to manage receiving, staging, and shipping of equipment in the yard. You will track equipment status, coordinate with multiple departments, and keep the yard safe, clean, and organized.

The role involves occasional travel, training new staff on safety and yard procedures, and supporting maintenance coordination. Strong English communication and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• 1 year operating or certification in construction equipment.
• 1 year training or supervisory experience.
• 1 year inventory and logistics, preferred.
• 1 year of facility/yard maintenance experience, preferred.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

Responsibilities

• Maintains day-to-day logistics processes and documentation for receiving, staging, and shipping equipment and attachments in the yard.
• Uses various technology platforms and reporting tools to track equipment status, condition, availability, and location.
• Steam cleans equipment ensuring cleaning area is safe, clean, and free of all debris.
• Maintains consistent communication with all departments, and responds to all client, employees, vendor inquiries in a prompt, professional and friendly manner.
• Ensures yard facilities, fencing, signage, and grounds are maintained and operational
• Assists with minor equipment maintenance and repair coordination
• Provides day-to-day guidance and direction to Equipment Yard Attendants and yard personnel.
• Assists with onboarding and training of new employees on safety procedures, equipment operation, inventory systems, and yard processes.
• Serves as the local subject matter expert for yard operations and logistics procedures.
• Assists management in identifying process improvement opportunities and operational efficiencies.
• Coordinates workforce coverage and daily task assignments during employee absences.
