Job summary

Western States Equipment seeks a dependable yard technician to manage maintenance, prep, and inventory of heavy rents, sales, and used equipment. The role emphasizes safety, organization, and reliability in a fast-paced yard environment.

The technician will load and unload machines, perform routine inspections on return, support shipping/receiving, and assist with toolroom management and shop cleanup as needed.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Excellent driving record with valid driver's license and ability to pass CDL requirements.

Responsibilities

• Instructs customer on proper use and safety procedures; loads and unloads machines on customer transportation.
• Maintains organization and appearance of the yard; completes documents for shipping and receiving equipment.
• Inspects machines upon customer return for damage, fuel levels and attachments; may assist with minor repairs.
• Washes, details, and touches up machines upon return to maintain appearance; performs final checks before shipping.
• Delivers and picks equipment as needed; assists with shop cleanup and toolroom inventory.
• Handles public and internal inquiries promptly; adheres to safety policies and company standards.
• May participate in Six Sigma related training and support corporate vision and values.
