Boeing Future of Flight is seeking Contract Equipment Engineers to support the Production Engineering organization in Auburn, WA and Fredrickson, WA. The role focuses on Electrical/Controls, equipment development, implementation, and process improvement on the production floor.

Candidates will review schematics, control panel designs, and troubleshoot issues while coordinating project management, testing, and commissioning of automated systems.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years project management experience supporting complex technical projects.
  • Experience evaluating equipment solutions and assessing electrical system requirements.
  • 1+ years of experience with programming languages such as Java and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate program and project requirements, develop equipment concepts and design solutions for the Production System.
  • Compile and analyze technical data to determine effects on product engineering design, usability, and rate estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and release bid and purchase specifications for equipment needs from suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot current production issues related to quality, safety, and repeatability.
  • Develop and implement work-arounds and maintain configuration of hardware and documentation.
  • Perform studies and make recommendations for disposition of assets.

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Boeing is looking for Contract Equipment Engineers to support thier Production Engineering organization in Auburn, WA and Fredrickson, WA. This Electrical/Controls focused position will support exciting new endeavors in the Fabrication Division.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

Primary Responsibilities:

This is an equipment development, implementation, and improvement role. This role involves reviewing electrical schematics, control panel designs, and troubleshooting technical issues. Additionally, the role requires project management, testing, and commissioning of automated system acquisition and modification projects:

  • Evaluate program and project requirements, develop complex equipment concepts and design solutions for the Production System.
  • Compile and analyze technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design, usability, and rate estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and release bid and purchase specifications for equipment needs from suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot current production issues related to quality, safety, and repeatability.
  • Develop and implement work-arounds and maintain configuration of hardware and documentation.

Required Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 2 or more years of project management experience supporting complex technical projects, evaluating/selecting equipment solutions, and assessing electrical system requirements
  • 1 or more years of experience with programming languages such as Java and SQL
  • 1 or more years of experience working to industry standards related to electrical system design
  • Experience in Automation and robotics
  • Ability to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate across diverse teams
Pay Rate Range
