Job summary

Boeing Future of Flight is hiring an Equipment and Tool Engineer 3 for a contract role based in Auburn, WA. This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full‑time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Regular and predictable attendance is required. Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Equipment Engineers to join our Production Engineering organization in Auburn, WA. A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
• Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation or technology recommendations and system integration for equipment and tooling.
• Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
• Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
• Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.
• Develops and implements work‑arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.
• Performs studies and makes recommendation for disposition of assets.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
• 3 or more years of experience working in an engineering discipline
• 3 or more years of experience with production systems in a manufacturing or engineering capacity
• 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
