Job summary

Rural King seeks a Mechanic I to diagnose, service, and repair customer and company-owned equipment in our in-store repair shop. This role covers small engines, tractors, diesel equipment, hydraulic systems, and outdoor power gear while handling repair work orders, parts, warranty claims, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Proficient mechanical skills with experience diagnosing and repairing small engines, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, or related equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment, multimeters, service tools, manuals, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain equipment in-store and company-owned gear.
• Manage repair work orders, parts, and warranty claims from intake to completion.
• Perform preventative maintenance and intermediate-level service.
• Document progress, parts used, and next steps; communicate updates to customers.
• Order and manage special-order parts; maintain a safe shop environment.
