Job summary

Clark County Equipment Technician I is responsible for diagnosing problems and repairing a range of county fleet equipment. The role may involve field service, welding and fabrication, and hydraulic system work to keep road maintenance vehicles running.

Qualifications include three years of journey-level experience, a CDL-A with endorsements, and a valid license. The position operates on a swing shift (2:30pm–1:00pm) and is represented by Local 1432.

Qualifications

• Three years of journey-level equipment/vehicle repair experience.
• Experience with diesel truck engines and hydraulically operated equipment desirable.
• HazMat endorsement or ability to obtain within one month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks, passenger vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Operate shop tools and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently.
• Design, modify, and install hydraulic systems and components as needed.
• Maintain shop records and assist with welding or fabrication as required.
• Road test vehicles after repair and supervise apprentices.
