Job summary

Craig Taylor Equipment in Anchorage is seeking an Equipment Service Technician- Small Engine (EQA) to analyze root causes of equipment failures and perform inspections, repairs and replacements.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will document maintenance and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, using diagnostic tools and following safety guidelines. This role requires 40+ hours weekly and a valid driver's license; bonuses are available and leadership is supportive.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge and aptitude required.
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to ensure proper functioning.
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment through testing and analysis.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and service schedules.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems following manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Competent use of internal computer systems, including diagnostic tools, parts management and work order management software.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

A Little About The Position

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, our full-time Service Technician position is responsible for analyzing the root causes of equipment failures and proposing corrective actions. Equipment Service Technicians also perform regular inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions, repairs and replacements. Please see duties below.

Some Of The Duties Of This Position
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to ensure proper functioning. This may involve inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment components.
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment through testing and analysis. Use diagnostic tools and equipment manuals to pinpoint problems accurately.
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and service schedules. Prepare reports on equipment status, maintenance history, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems in equipment, following manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines. This could include repairing or replacing electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, engines, or other mechanical components.
  • Competent and thorough use of internal computer systems, including electronic diagnostic tools, parts management and work order management software
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Team members must be able to lift at least 40 pounds on a regular basis and be able to stand for long periods of time. Bending, lifting, and pushing will also be required.
