Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing role, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic units.

Individuals with experience in HVAC repair, Mechanics, Maintenance, Refrigeration, Boilers, Chillers, Equipment Repair, Diesel and Automotive Repair, Aviation Repair, Plumbing, Electrical, etc., are often successful.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.
2. Manage time effectively by prioritizing customer and business needs to complete PM, service calls, warranty calls, installations, and upgrades.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and use technology platforms for compliance and troubleshooting documentation.
4. Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options; build relationships with sales to enhance customer experience and identify growth opportunities.
5. Support various locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements and customer needs.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. Certifications or military experience in related areas may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet credentialing and physical requirements.
• Customer and team engagement experience, effective communication skills, basic computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, travel overnight up to 15%, and support hospital credentialing requirements.
