Position Summary

Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing employee, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment.

Individuals with experience working in HVAC repair, Mechanics, Maintenance, Refrigeration, Boilers, Chillers, Equipment Repair, Diesel and Automotive Repair, Aviation Repair, Plumbing, Electrical, etc., are often successful.

This is a remote-based, customer-facing position. To support and service our customers in this territory, candidates must be based out of Florida.

What You'll Do As An Equipment Service Technician

1. Perform fundamental troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.
2. Manage time effectively by prioritizing customer and business needs and schedules autonomously to complete PM, service calls, warranty calls, equipment installations, field upgrade programs, and other duties.
3. Work with cross-functional teams (Tech Support, Engineering, Service Contract Management), to escalate issues appropriately and utilize advanced technology platforms to complete compliance, regulatory requirements, and document troubleshooting issues.
4. Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options. Build relationships with Sales to enhance customer experience and identify sales opportunities within the territory.
5. Support various locations within the assigned territory, depending on service agreements and customer needs.

The Experience, Skills, And Abilities Needed

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of work experience, including 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. An associate's degree, related certifications, or military experience may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and physical assessment requirements for vendor credentialing.
• Customer and team engagement experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Windows/email, navigation, mobile apps, data entry into multiple systems).
• Flexibility for schedules that may include overnights, early/late hours, based on customer and business needs.

Pay range: $47,750.00 - $66,937.50, with bonus eligibility. Pay is based on experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
