Summary

Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing employee, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units.

Individuals with experience working in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, etc., are often successful.

This is a remote, customer-facing position. To support and service our customers in this territory, candidates must be based out of Oregon.

What You'll Do as an Equipment Service Technician
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.
  • Manage time effectively by prioritizing customer and business needs independently to complete PMs, service calls, warranty calls, installations, upgrades, and other duties.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues, utilize technology platforms for compliance and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options; build relationships with sales to enhance customer experience and identify sales opportunities.
  • Support various locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements and customer needs.
Required Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in a mechanical/technical role; additional certifications or military experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and physical requirements for credentialing.
  • Customer engagement and team collaboration experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Windows, email, mobile apps, data entry).
  • Flexibility for travel, overnight stays, and variable hours based on customer needs.

Pay range: $53,000 - $74,287.50, with potential bonuses or commissions. Pay is based on experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
