Job Description

Salary:

Purpose of the position: Operate, transport, and maintain equipment per company policy and standards.

Requirements:

• Experience as an equipment operator.
• A CDL Class A license for transportation of equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the Project Superintendent and crew, providing clear direction.
• Self-starter, detail-oriented, capable of completing multiple tasks accurately.
• Adaptability to change, proactive problem-solving, quick learning ability.
• Knowledge of standard commercial construction practices.
• Mechanical skills for basic repairs and maintenance.
• Proper techniques for loading, unloading, and securing loads.
• Ability to work on construction equipment.
• Familiarity with digital tool tracking and data logging systems.
• All other assigned duties.

Equipment includes but is not limited to:

• 3D laser grading equipment and applications
• Excavator
• Bobcat
• Forklift
• Roller
• Laser screed (highly desirable)

Goals: Ensure safety and quality during grading and digging, aligned with company policies and standards.

Responsibilities:

Safety

• Pre-operation inspections of equipment and materials.
• Be aware of workers' locations around heavy equipment.
• Adhere to proper tie-down regulations.
• Perform pre-trip, during, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Properly load and unload screed from trailer.
• Maintain a valid CDL.

Quality

• Coordinate with Concrete Coordinator or Project Manager to determine work and equipment needs.
• Set and verify laser and equipment elevations and slopes.
• Ensure laser calibration accuracy.

Maintenance

• Clean equipment after use.
• Lubricate necessary components.
• Prepare machinery for subsequent use.
• Charge lasers as needed.
• Keep spare parts and materials on hand.

Time Keeping

• Follow company policies for tracking time.
• Use proper cost coding (phase-cost code).
• Accurately log daily hours to the specific job.

Additional Responsibilities

• Motivate and inspire team members through positive feedback.
• Maintain company equipment and vehicles per standards.
