Description:
The Heavy Equipment Operator operates light and heavy-duty ground motorized equipment such as Excavators, Loaders, Graders, Trucks, Power Cranes, Tractors, Shovels or other related equipment. Operates machinery in construction to excavate, load, dig, vibrate or break rocks or concrete, debris, dirt, or other materials.
Schedule:6 days per week, 12 hours per day

Essential Job Functions:
- Ensures efficient and safe operation of equipment
- Competently Operate a 300 Series Excavator to install underground utilities-piping and rigging and other appropriate use of Excavation
- Competently Operate Loader and Grader to construct small (100x100) Tank Pads and/or other hazardous materials
- Other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or Equivalent
- Minimum (2) two years’ experience in North Dakota installing Flow lines, sales gas tie-ins, and pipeline
- Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record required depending on location
- Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to obtain upon hire
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License Preferred – must be able to retain validity of CDL with no lapse

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of Heavy Civil Construction and characteristics of all equipment functions and operations
- Knowledge of proper equipment use conducive to conditions and assignment
- Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to equipment use and operation
- Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
- Skills in daily maintenance of machines including repairs and inspecting equipment to identify possible problems
- Skills in use of Computer/Laptop or other supporting devices commensurate with program and job applications
- Ability to use time and equipment efficiently in order to complete projects on time
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to handle stress and possess positive trait even in difficult or challenging situations
- Ability to attend training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department
