Job description

Purpose of the position: Operate, transport, and maintain equipment according to company policy and standards.

Requirements:

1. Experience as an equipment operator.
2. CDL Class A license for transportation of equipment.
3. Effective communication skills with project personnel and ability to provide direction.
4. Self-starter, detail-oriented, capable of completing multiple tasks accurately.
5. Adaptability, proactive problem-solving skills, and quick learning ability.
6. Knowledge of standard commercial construction practices.
7. Basic mechanical skills for repairs and maintenance.
8. Proper techniques for loading, unloading, and securing loads on trailers.
9. Ability to work on construction equipment.
10. Familiarity with digital tool tracking and data logging systems.
11. All other assigned duties.

Equipment includes but is not limited to:

1. 3D laser grading equipment and applications
2. Excavator
3. Bobcat
4. Forklift
5. Roller
6. Laser screed (highly desirable)

Goals: Ensure safety and quality during grading and digging, in line with company policies and standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Safety

• Pre-operation inspections of equipment and materials.
• Awareness of worker locations around heavy equipment.
• Adherence to proper tie-down regulations.
• Pre-trip, during, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Proper loading and unloading of screed from trailers.
• Maintain a valid CDL.

Quality

• Coordinate with the Concrete Coordinator or Project Manager on work and equipment needs.
• Set and verify laser and equipment elevations and slopes.
• Ensure lasers are properly calibrated.

Maintenance

• Clean equipment after use.
• Lubricate necessary components.
• Prepare machines for subsequent use.
• Charge lasers as needed.
• Stock necessary parts and materials.

Time Keeping

• Follow company policies for time tracking.
• Use proper cost coding for jobs.
• Accurately log daily time entries.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Motivate and provide positive feedback to employees on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Maintain company equipment and vehicles per standards.
