Job description

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Monroe, MI, is looking for a Class B CDL Operator to join their safety-conscious team!

The Class B CDL Operator is responsible for the safe and proper execution of HPC Industrial jobs across all service lines. This role supervises and completes single-task jobs with one crew and manages turnarounds at the client’s site, in accordance with client and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as safety representative, responsible for safety policies and procedures, including operations, safety, equipment, emergency response, and administrative functions.
  2. Operate vacuum and hydroblasting equipment, including Ultra High-Pressure pumps.
  3. Operate specialized equipment such as vacuum trucks, chemical cleaning, and cutting equipment.
  4. Inspect surfaces to ensure conformance to specifications.
  5. Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  6. Handle duties involving liquid vacuums, air machines, and jet rodders.
  7. May supervise a crew of vacuum technicians.
  8. Transport equipment and personnel to and from job sites.
  9. Complete pre and post-trip inspections, maintain driver logs, and comply with DOT regulations.
  10. Load and unload hoses and equipment.
  11. Unload vacuum trucks at disposal sites.
  12. Perform general maintenance in the field.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  1. Vocational training including safety training and on-the-job experience.
  2. English proficiency to understand safety instructions and respond in emergencies.
  3. Valid driver’s license with CDL Class A or B, adhering to company policies.
  4. Smartphone for Electronic Logging Device use.
  5. Possibly required: TWIC card.
  6. Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers.
  7. Experience operating vacuum trucks.
  8. Knowledge of wet and dry vacuum equipment.
Additional Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Class B CDL license required.
  • HazMat and Tanker endorsements preferred.
