Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a capable Heavy Equipment Operator to support road construction and maintenance projects. You will operate a range of large equipment, load and grade materials, and assist with trenching and pipe installations on active job sites.

The role requires following safety protocols, inspecting equipment, and communicating effectively with supervisors and crew. This is a full-time on-site position across construction sites in Mobile, AL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior field experience preferred.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Strong communication with management and team.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to excavate, move, and grade material and perform road maintenance.
• Load and spread gravel, dirt, and sand; smooth and grade surfaces.
• Trench and install culverts and pipes; manage site debris and silt.
• Inspect equipment; monitor fluid levels and lubrication; perform basic repairs.
