The City of Ardmore is seeking a Maintenance Worker to operate light construction and maintenance equipment in support of landscaping, street repair, and water and wastewater line maintenance. Responsibilities include loading, hauling, scraping, sweeping, mowing and related tasks, with focus on safety and efficiency around the public.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. Training is provided; pesticide applicator license within a year is preferred.

Competenze

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years performing maintenance work involving operation of moderate to light construction and maintenance equipment.

Mansioni

• Operate construction and maintenance equipment for maintenance and construction operations.
• Clean debris from ditches, culverts and creek beds; haul trash and debris.
• Assist in maintaining city parks, pools, courts and fields.
• Respond to public inquiries courteously and provide information.
• Repair and maintain equipment used in parks and ROW maintenance.
• Work safely around high traffic areas and nearby citizens.
• Spray chemical insecticides and herbicides as needed (license required within one year).
• Perform field adjustments and repairs on equipment.
• Prune trees and shrubs, mow lawns and rake leaves.
• Be responsible for safety of yourself and crew in the work area.
