Job summary

Jackson County Government's Parks + Rec division seeks a maintenance-focused professional to support foremen and supervisors in project management and daily operations.

You will operate specialized maintenance equipment, use hand tools, and perform asset and infrastructure improvements while maintaining safety and quality standards. Requires a high school diploma, CDL with air brakes, and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Three years of experience in an industry related position or craft.
• Must complete Division specific training as directed.
• Must obtain a Class B Missouri Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement within six months of hire.
• Additional qualification dependent on department needs: Must have obtained a Class A commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement and HAZMAT or can obtain/retain HAZMAT endorsement within six (6) months of hire, where applicable.
• Must submit to/pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting the Foreman and/or Supervisors with project management to ensure that timely completion is accomplished.
• Must be proficient in operating specialized maintenance equipment and in the use of handheld equipment, hand tools, and other power equipment.
• Performs Asset and infrastructure improvements and manual labor as necessary.
