Job summary

Jackson County Missouri is seeking a parks and maintenance worker to operate specialized maintenance equipment, perform asset and infrastructure improvements, cut brush and trees, and assist in ice and snow control operations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years related experience, completion of division training, and a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within six months. Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, background/drug screen required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a related position or craft.
• Division specific training must be completed as directed.
• Must obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement within six months of hire.
• Heavy lifting is required, sometimes exceeding 50 pounds.
• Must pass pre-employment background/drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operate specialized maintenance equipment and use handheld tools and power equipment.
• Perform asset and infrastructure improvements and manual labor as needed.
• Cut brush and trees from county infrastructure.
• Participate in ice and snow control operations.
