City of Tyler is seeking an Equipment Operator II to join the construction crew. The role safely transports equipment and materials, performs general labor, and supports water and sewer infrastructure projects.

The position requires operating dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, and forklifts, with on-call duties and potential overtime. A TX Class B CDL with air brakes and a valid license are required, plus relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one year of related experience preferred.
• Must possess TX Class B CDL with air brake endorsement and clean driving record.
• TCEQ Water Distribution Class 1/Wastewater Collection license or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate dump trucks and loaders to move materials to job sites.
• Assist with repair, maintenance, and installation of water and sewer systems.
• Perform manual labor and operate jackhammers and power tools as needed.
• Cut and lay pipes (PVC, ductile iron, concrete) and pour/finish concrete.
• Respond to emergency calls after hours if required.
