Job summary

Responsibilities include snow removal, sidewalk repairs, stormwater tasks, signage work, and pothole patches; you may lead crews when assigned and respond to emergencies or disasters as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write.
• 2–4 years of experience operating medium to heavy-duty motorized equipment.
• NCDOT certified flagger designation.
• Possess a valid NC Commercial Class B driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operates routine equipment to maintain and repair municipal infrastructure, facilities, and grounds.
• Performs semi-skilled and skilled operation of large motorized equipment around traffic and utilities.
• Performs building and grounds maintenance, yard waste collection, leaves, and bulky waste.
• Performs snow removal and maintains sidewalks, stormwater infrastructure, ditches, street signs, and patches potholes.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and may act as crew leader in absence of supervisor.
• Responds to emergencies or disasters and participates in on-call rotation.
