The Town of Zebulon, NC is seeking a skilled Public Works Maintenance Lead to supervise daily operations, operate heavy equipment and contribute to storm drainage, road and facilities projects. You will monitor staff performance and coordinate tasks to ensure timely, safe delivery of services.

Required are 4–6 years of trades experience, a NC Class A CDL, OSHA training, and the ability to read as-built drawings. Certifications such as Work Zone Supervisor or Flagger are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent; able to read and write.
• 4–6 years’ experience in the trades field including equipment operation and construction.
• ITRE Road Scholar designation or equivalent certification.
• NC DOT Flagger designation.
• Ability to read as-built construction drawings or maps.
• North Carolina Class A CDL or ability to obtain within six months.
• Certified Work Zone Supervisor certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• NC Pesticide License for ROW or ability to obtain within six months.

Aufgaben

• Lead and participate in daily operations; monitor staff and correct issues.
• Serve as the competent person on the job site per OSHA.
• Construct and maintain storm drainage, sidewalks and roadways.
• Perform building and grounds maintenance; service water and sewer to facilities.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles; perform repairs.
• Respond to, investigate and document customer issues.
• Prepare project and work order records with photo documentation.
• Recommend measures to improve production, equipment performance and service quality.
• Deal tactfully with staff and customers in tense situations.
• Respond to emergencies and disasters; on-call rotation.
• Perform other duties as required.
