Job summary

The City of Annapolis is seeking an Equipment Operator II to perform routine and intermediate equipment operations with increasing independence. This role focuses on the safe operation and preventive maintenance of a wide range of heavy equipment across public works projects.

Incumbents will support seasonal activities, including snow removal, and work beyond standard hours as needed while adhering to city safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Experience: Two (2) years as Equipment Operator I for the assigned area.
• Licensure: Valid CDL with endorsements may be required on appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Transport and unload equipment, materials, and supplies safely across worksites.
• Oversee seasonal work and participate in winter snow removal operations.
• Adhere to safety standards and city/equipment regulations.
