Qualifications

• Must have a valid North Dakota Class A driver license with no air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement by first day.
• For Equipment Operator I: valid ND Class B license without air brake restrictions.
• MOS or related military experience may substitute for required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to perform highway, roadway and structure maintenance.
• Perform snow and ice control/removal as required.
• Assist in installing, repairing and maintaining highway signs and guardrails.
• Operate power tools and other equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Keep roadways clear of hazards such as litter, debris and carcasses.
• Complete building and grounds maintenance duties and routine maintenance of roadway and radio equipment.
• Perform minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain paperwork including time records and reports; follow training and perform tasks under supervision.
