Job summary

Martin Marietta seeks an Equipment Operator to safely run mobile heavy equipment used in extracting, transporting, and processing aggregates such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone. The role ensures smooth material flow from pit to plant and proper stockpile management, while supporting maintenance and housekeeping to sustain an elite operation.

The position emphasizes a Safety First mindset, adherence to MSHA rules, and cross-functional duties including basic manual labor and site cleanliness

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or relevant experience.
• Technical training and vocational certification is preferred.
• Work Experience: No experience is required; 6 months – 1 year of experience operating Heavy Equipment within a Mining, Quarry, or Construction setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate entry-to-mid-level mobile equipment (Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Front-End Loaders).
• Transport raw materials from extraction pit to primary crusher and move products to stockpiles.
• Maintain stockpile integrity and prevent contamination.
• Manage dust control and site safety measures across haul roads.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections for hazards and maintenance.
• Perform routine PM tasks and assist mechanics with minor repairs.
• Record production logs and maintenance reports.
