Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Plant Operator to support mining and aggregate production. You will operate, monitor, and maintain plant processing equipment, conduct inspections, and keep accurate daily production reports.

Responsibilities include handling crushers, screens, conveyors, and loaders, ensuring safety, quality output, and environmental compliance. No prior experience required; 6–12 months preferred, with a strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; 6 months–1 year in Aggregate Plant Operations or similar heavy building materials industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Start, monitor, and regulate crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, and pumps per safety standards.
• Adjust process settings to optimize material flow and quality per job specs.
• Operate mobile equipment (skid steers, front-end loaders) during loadout or clean-up.
• Perform pre-shift and ongoing inspections; document daily reports.
• Conduct preventative maintenance: greasing, cleaning, belt changes, bearing or pulley work.
• Identify malfunctions; safely shut down equipment and request repairs.
• Maintain tidy work area; control spills, dust, debris around equipment.
• Adhere to MSHA and company safety policies; wear PPE correctly.
• Communicate with supervisors and teammates for efficient workflow and safety.
• Assist in training new or temporary staff on equipment and safety.
