- Mountain Shops Pay Differential: an additional $2.50/hour for remote locations at Shaffers, Critchell, Evergreen, Lookout Mountain, Indian Hills, and Coal Creek.

Job Description
The Equipment Operator I/CDL Driver is an entry-level classification performing unskilled and semi-skilled duties in vehicle and equipment operation for road construction, maintenance, and repair. Operates light and medium equipment including weed trimmers, chain saws, skid steer, trucks, and more. Duties vary by district and include asphalt overlay prep, hauling, graveling roads, shoveling, traffic control, and snow/ice removal.

Essential Duties
- Perform road maintenance including milling, paving, pothole filling, crack sealing, concrete repairs, sweeping, drainage maintenance, gravel roads, and snow removal.
- Operate snowplows and sweepers during snow events.
- Operate and drive equipment safely, perform inspections, routine maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Respond to emergencies and snow removal 24/7, reporting within one hour of call.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience operating vehicles/equipment with GVWR of 26,001+ pounds.
- At least 18 years old by hire date.
- Valid Driver’s License for 2+ years, must obtain Colorado license if out of state.
- Valid Class B or A CDL with Air Brake restriction removed and DOT medical card at hire.
- Tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire.
- May need additional certifications like Flagging, Traffic Control, Stormwater, Erosion Control, Hazmat.
- Available for 24/7 emergency response and snow removal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in road construction or maintenance, asphalt operations, or public works.
