Job summary

Martin Marietta in Des Moines area seeks a motivated individual to join our Portable 2 team in Gilman, IA. The role involves operating equipment, assisting with plant maintenance, production and quality control, and supporting cross-plant needs across Central Iowa.

This full-time position offers an hourly wage with drive time and mileage pay, plus $175 per diem when traveling. Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of related experience, valid driver's license, and

Responsibilities

• Assist in plant operations including production, quality control, loading, and shipping.
• Shovel work, sweeping, lifting, cleaning, and acting as a spotter.
• Uses a variety of tools and clean-up equipment to support production operations such as removal of material on and from beneath the plant.
• Assists Plant Operators, and Equipment Operators, with general duties as requested.
• Must be willing to cross-train in all plant areas.
• Learn to operate plant-specific mobile equipment.
• Perform daily pre/post-shift inspections on equipment and maintain maintenance log.
• Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated individual to join our rock solid Des Moines Portable 2 team. This position is responsible for operating a variety of equipment and help with plant maintenance, production and equipment operation. This position will be based out of Gilman, IA but will travel around Central Iowa and Eastern Nebraska to help other plants with production.

• This position is paid a competitive hourly wage as well as drive time pay, mileage pay and $175 per diem pay when traveling.
