Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a motivated equipment operator to join the Des Moines Portable Team in Winterset, IA. You will operate haul trucks, graders, water trucks, loaders, cranes, and other mobile equipment to move raw materials from pit to plant with safety and efficiency.

Position requires a valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Central Iowa and eastern Nebraska; the role offers a competitive hourly wage plus drive time, mileage pay and per diem, with a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience welcomed but training provided; bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate haul truck, motor grader, water truck, loader and crane.
• Assist in plant repairs and cleanup.
• Perform pre-shift safety inspections on equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and report needed repairs.
• Maintain good housekeeping of equipment.
• Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules.

Job description

Description Martin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated individual to join our Des Moines Portable Team. This position will have the opportunity to operate a variety of heavy equipment to include haul truck, motor grader, water truck, crane, etc. to bring raw materials from pit to plant in a safe and efficient manner at maximum loading capacity. This position will be based out of Winterset, IA but will travel around Central Iowa and Eastern Nebraska to help other plants with production.This position is an excellent opportunity to work for one of the best companies in the industry and have work-life balance while working 3 days per week! This position is paid a competitive hourly wage as well as drive time pay, mileage pay and $175per diem pay.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to or willing to learn to operate all other mobile equipment, including: haul truck, motor grader, water truck, loader and crane
• Assist in plant repairs and clean-up
• Perform pre-shift safety inspection on equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and service mobile equipment. Report needed repairs to shop personnel
• Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment
• Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules and regulations
• Perform duties with minimum supervision

Minimum Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must have a vaild driver's license
• Experience is a plus but will train the right candidate
• Bi-Lingual is a plus

Working Conditions

• Larger equipment is typically air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments that may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry.
• May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
