Qualifications

  • Must be able to safely operate an approved company vehicle.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems preferred.
  • Must be willing to join the applicable local union and pay required dues.
  • Valid Driver License required.
  • Class A CDL with Air Brake Endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all necessary equipment repairs, including replacement of worn or damaged parts.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and servicing on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and related mechanical assemblies.
  • Inspect critical operating components for wear, defects, and damage.
  • Test machinery and equipment for safe operation.
  • Perform welding repairs as needed.

Description

Job Title: Equipment Mechanic

Employment Type: Full-Time+, Non-Exempt. Current schedule is 50 hours a week (Overtime rate applied after 40 hours), but may change to fit needs of crews.

Department: Fleet Operations / Equipment Maintenance

Reports To: Fleet Manager / Shop Supervisor

Pay: Competitive Hourly Rate in alignment with local union hall rates.

Benefits are provided through IBEW Local 1393 and based on their current contract.

Position Summary

The Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing heavy equipment and fleet vehicles to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
