The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, safety, and keeping critical equipment operating at peak performance across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, perform preventive maintenance, and document service activities to minimize downtime while adhering to safety

Qualifications

  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment using manuals, schematics, and specs.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
  • Read and interpret technical documentation and service manuals.
  • Maintain safe work practices and high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and diesel issues.
  • Diagnose problems using testing tools and manufacturer specifications.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable professional to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy equipment and machinery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on problem solving, values safety, and takes pride in keeping essential equipment operating at peak performance. The successful candidate will work with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems to support day‑to‑day operations and minimize equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment and related machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and diesel engine issues.
  • Diagnose equipment problems using testing tools, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems as needed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and extend service life.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and service activities.
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure equipment is returned to service in safe working condition.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding equipment status and repair timelines.
  • Operate shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with field service calls and on‑site repairs when required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in diesel mechanics, equipment repair, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, or industrial machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drive components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools in a maintenance or repair setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet any site‑specific access or safety requirements.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, or machining.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and equipment inspection processes.
  • Experience working with fleet management systems or maintenance tracking software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
Work Environment

This position may involve working in a shop, outdoors, or on active job sites. The role can include lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable handling physically demanding tasks and following established safety protocols.
