  • Knowledge of basic safety requirements and ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally.
  • Excellent coordination and critical thinking; ability to follow directions from Shop Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, diagnose and repair a variety of industrial equipment used in construction, mining, and agriculture, as well as vehicle maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs of equipment.
  • Replace or repair faulty parts, tighten bolts, change fluids, and lubricate machinery.
  • Welding and torch/plasma cutting as needed.
  • Complete shop paperwork and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and other shop tasks, including site work when required.

Position Description

We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics who will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a variety of industrial equipment used in construction, mining, and agriculture industries, as well as vehicle maintenance. Applicants must be dependable, honest, hardworking, have an excellent work ethic and a desire to learn/grow.

  • Attendance during regularly scheduled work days
  • Maintain, diagnose and repair a variety of industrial equipment used in construction, mining, and agriculture industries, as well as vehicle maintenance
  • Have extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair equipment quickly and efficiently
  • Conduct regular inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs of equipment
  • Replace or repair faulty parts, tighten bolts, change fluids, and lubricate machinery
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and provide technical advice to other employees
  • Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
  • Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
  • Welding

  • Complete shop paperwork
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Ability to complete computer-based training (CBT) modules as part of ongoing job requirements
  • Performing other shop related tasks, when primary responsibilities are complete, to include site work

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk
  • Regularly required to use arms, hands and fingers, to reach, handle and/or feel
  • Regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to sit or stand in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day, including while using a computer or performing administrative or training-related tasks
  • Must be physically flexible
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include peripheral vision and depth perception
  • Regularly required to work under stressful conditions, all types of outdoor weather, and varying terrain
  • Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a clean driving record.
