Equipment Maintenance Mechanic (Finance)

Position Purpose

Responsible for the prompt repair and ongoing maintenance of facilities, equipment, and company vehicles. Identify, monitor, and troubleshoot problems. Keep records of work performed and complete maintenance logs. Control and account for equipment. Ensure operation of safe and functionally sound equipment. Maintain grounds and clear parking lots. Maintain and order supplies and parts as needed.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

• Maintain and repair epoxy floors as needed
• Maintain racking systems, including replacing and moving orange bars
• Maintain and repair facilities, including basic plumbing (bathroom repairs) and electrical systems
• Maintain grounds, parking lots, and driveways; clear snow
• Provide recommendations to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment
• Prioritize repair schedules to ensure uninterrupted production
• Conduct regular facilities inspections
• Assist in developing a preventive maintenance schedule
• Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and materials
• Coordinate with personnel to meet repair and maintenance needs in line with production schedules
• Report significant concerns or major issues to management
• Keep work areas clean, secure, and well-maintained
• Re-key locks; repair dock doors and plates
• Perform duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures, as appropriate

Qualifications

• Understanding of safety guidelines
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
• Knowledge of production functions
• Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures
• Two years of experience with electronics and mechanical equipment
• Machining and fabrication experience helpful
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently
• Well-organized and attentive to detail
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to use various hand tools
• Good judgment, especially when supervision is not immediately available

Physical Environment

• Exposure to welding fumes, oils, grease, dirt, solvents, noise, and temperature variations from -15 to 100 Fahrenheit
• Physical activities include stooping, kneeling, twisting, and bending
