Position Purpose

Responsible for the prompt repair and ongoing maintenance of facilities, equipment, and company vehicles. Identify, monitor, and troubleshoot problems. Keep records of work performed and complete maintenance history logs. Control and account for equipment. Ensure operation of safe and functionally sound equipment. Maintain grounds and clear parking lots. Maintain and order supplies and parts as needed.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

• Maintain and repair epoxy floors as needed
• Maintain racking - replace and move orange bars
• Maintain and repair facilities including basic plumbing (bathroom repairs) and electrical systems
• Maintain grounds, parking lots, and driveways; clear snow
• Provide recommendations to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment
• Prioritize repair schedules to ensure uninterrupted production
• Conduct regular facilities inspections
• Assist in developing a preventive maintenance schedule
• Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and materials
• Communicate regularly with personnel regarding repairs and maintenance, coordinating with production schedules
• Report major concerns or significant problems to management
• Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
• Re-key locks, repair dock doors and plates
• Perform duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Understanding of safety guidelines
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
• Knowledge of production functions
• Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance
• Two years of experience with electronics and mechanical equipment
• Machining and fabrication experience helpful
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently
• Well organized and attentive to detail
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to use hand tools
• Good judgment, especially when supervision is not immediately available

Physical Environment

• Exposure to welding fumes, oils, grease, dirt, solvents, noise, and temperature variations from -15 to 100°F
• Stooping, kneeling, twisting, and bending at the waist
