Job summary

Fountain Equipment Finance LLC, a SmartBank subsidiary, is seeking a detail‑oriented Loan Assistant in Knoxville, TN. You’ll support the production team by preparing and processing commercial equipment loan applications and gathering borrower documents.

You’ll coordinate with lenders, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate loan files and timely closings. You’ll work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment, providing excellent service to clients while following policies and regulatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Two+ years of commercial lending, loan operations, or related banking experience preferred.
• Previous equipment finance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist lenders with preparing and processing commercial equipment loan applications.
• Collect and verify borrower documentation, including financial statements, insurance, and invoices.
• Order and review third‑party reports such as UCC searches, appraisals, and lien filings.
• Ensure loan packages meet internal policy and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors, title companies, and internal teams to facilitate closings.
• Track post‑closing requirements, including insurance verification and lien perfection.
• Maintain accurate loan files and loan tracking systems.
• Deliver exceptional service to internal partners and external clients.
• Support SmartBank's commitment to integrity, compliance, and relationship‑driven service.
